Here's why I'm shutting down Forging Fiction

Hello everyone,

After an extended break I’m back to tell you it’s time for me to say goodbye to this iteration of Forging Fiction. I enjoyed building this community of fiction writers and amplifying our voices, and maybe in the future I will be able to pick up this initiative again, but for now I’ve made the decision to officially shut down the publication and put my efforts back to my own writing.

Substack is oversaturated with “how to” writing and I just don’t see a way to continue in a genuine or useful way with all the noise.

I’m also juggling a full time career as a composer along with several writing projects, and running a “how to” page is just not possible for me at this time.

Thank you for understanding and for all your support, especially to my paid subscribers. Your donations made this effort possible. I don’t want you to be paying for an empty publication. I hope I was able to bring you some value with this publication through the fiction blast newsletters and skillset build…
